COFFEE FLAVOUR NOTES

This coffee has notes of sweet raisins, milk chocolate and ripe, juicy summer fruits. The bright, high acidity is well-balanced with a high body that perfectly rounds out every cup.

ORIGIN STORY:

This wonderful coffee won 2 stars at the Great Taste  Awards 2023.

This coffee comes from Katanda in the North Kivu region of DR Congo. For a coffee community such as Katanda, the economic situation has improved with value chain actors operating in the area to enable farmers to gain enhanced economic stability.

Sitting at 1610 masl, the washing station supports local farmers with training and seedlings to encourage coffee growing. This fully washed coffee is dried on raised African beds with a cup characterised by fruity, sweet notes and a rounded body.

This is an acclaimed coffee across both the Democratic Republic of Congo and Africa. The farmers from this region have achieved a variety of distinctions and awards for the excellent beans that they grow and process. That comes out in the beautiful and interesting flavours in our own coffee.
