Summer is here! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and iced coffee is ready to go! Cool off on a warm summer’s day with Velo’s coffee – but have it iced! *cue Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice*
Beat the heat this summer with Velo – we will show you how! Follow this simple and easy recipe to enjoy a fabulous iced coffee, brought to you by yours truly!
If you have the time, you could prepare the cold brew coffee the night before so you can enjoy your iced coffee anytime the next day! Start by using coarsely ground coffee and steep it in water overnight in your refrigerator! If you need to cut the time short, not to worry! The longer the coffee steeps, the stronger it will be! (Just something to keep in mind!)
After you have steeped the coffee grounds, strain the coffee grounds from the coffee brew. Add in your milk and sugar if desired, and we recommend just a splash of vanilla extract for flavour! Mix it up, add some ice, and you are ready to enjoy your Velo Iced Coffee!
If you are in a bit of a rush but absolutely NEED your iced coffee fix (no worries – we get it!) brew your Velo coffee as you normally would, and pour it over a large cup of ice. A little trick, make some coffee and freeze it in your ice tray beforehand; coffee ice cubes! Once some of the ice has melted and the coffee has slightly cooled, pour into a fresh cup filled with ice, add your milk, sugar, and any extras, and stir!
Regardless of how you brew your iced coffee, this is what you will need:
- ½ cup (120mls) of brewed coffee
- ¼ cup (60mls) of milk
- 1 tsp. of sugar (maybe 2 or 3 if you have a sweet-tooth!)
- ½ tsp. of your preferred flavour!
