The few items you need to make coffee are: coffee (of course!), water, and a filter. The tricky part comes into play when you are trying to figure out HOW to brew your coffee! We’re going to start with the Pour Over. The Pour Over method produces a delicious cuppa, with a smooth and delicate texture that has juicy, tea-like flavours! If you’re interested in the Pour Over method, we have a helpful brew guide here! The Pour Over method is for the coffee drinker who enjoys a quick morning ritual, but isn’t afraid to experiment! Pour Over creates a more complex, tasting cup - so make sure your taste buds are ready!
We love a French Press coffee for its full-bodied flavour that comes from brewing this way. This produces a heavier, more dense coffee. The French Press method is an immersion method, which is why this method produces a consistent flavour and extraction for your cup of coffee. The French Press method is easy, simple, and suits everyone! It doubles as a serving carafe and comes in a variety of sizes. Brew for 2, 3, 4, or drink all the coffee yourself - don’t worry, we definitely won’t judge! If you are interested in French Press, be sure to check out our brew guide here!
Now it’s time for the AeroPress. The AeroPress is a simple, versatile, and portable brewing method. This method brews a cup of coffee that has a delicate and silky mouthfeel. This brew method can be referred to as the “middle ground” between filter coffee maker and an espresso machine. The AeroPress is for everyone from the coffee lover on-the-go, to the minimalist, to the coffee enthusiast! The AeroPress is a great brewing method, so if you’re interested, be sure to check out our brew guide here!
Finally, if you need coffee first thing in the morning to function, then a drip coffee machine might be the method for you! We have two drip coffee machines, the Sage Precision Brewer, and the De’Longhi Clessidra (check them out!) Some drip coffee machines have a timer setting which will automatically brew your coffee even before you wake up! Be sure to check the machine for this feature. The drip coffee machines produce a delicious, and smooth cup of coffee.
There’s certainly a lot of information to think about there! Just be sure to think about it over a freshly brewed cup of Velo, enjoy!
